How to Order a Custom Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel: Step by Step

Ordering a custom steering wheel online can feel like a leap: it is a big part of your interior and it has to fit your car exactly. Here is exactly how ordering a Monaco wheel works, from picking a design to installing it.

1. Find wheels for your car

Start on the homepage and pick your year, make and model to see wheels we have built for your car. You can also browse pages for popular cars, like the Ford, Chevrolet or Jeep pages, or the full gallery of 1,800+ builds. If you see one you like, you can start from that design or build from scratch.

2. Design it in the builder

The builder walks you through every choice, with a live preview and a live price:

• Shape: factory round, flat bottom, flat top and bottom, or the open-top "fighter jet" style.
• Carbon: 3K twill, forged or honeycomb, in gloss or matte, and in color if you want (or a full wrap with no visible carbon).
• Grips: perforated leather, smooth leather or Alcantara, in your choice of color.
• Details: stitching color, a 12 o'clock stripe, carbon thumb inserts and a custom airbag cover.
• Tech: an LED shift light or RPM display on supported shapes, and carbon fiber or magnetic paddle shifters.

Builds start at $650. Every option shows its price as you pick, so there are no surprises.

3. Check out

When your build looks right, add it to the cart and check out securely through Shopify. Prefer to talk first? Use "Send us your spec" on the build page or our contact page and we will reply with a quote.

4. Send a photo of your current wheel

This is the step that guarantees fit. We need a photo of your current steering wheel, front and back, so we can confirm the exact wheel in your car: the airbag mounts, button connectors and paddles can differ between trims of the same model. If we cannot confirm the fit, we contact you to adjust the order or refund it.

5. We build it

Once your spec and fitment are confirmed, your wheel is built to order and hand-finished. Production takes about 2 to 3 weeks. Changes and cancellations are possible until production starts; see our shipping and returns policy.

6. Shipping and tracking

We ship within the United States and email you tracking as soon as your wheel ships. If anything arrives damaged, keep the packaging and contact us within 48 hours with photos.

7. Install

Your factory airbag and buttons move from your old wheel to the new one. Read our airbag guide before you start, and use a qualified installer if you are not comfortable working with an airbag.

Covered after delivery

Every wheel comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty covering things like delamination, stitching and electronics under normal use. Details are on our warranty and care page.
